Ziplining

I wasn't sure where to post this, so I figured here was as good a place as any.
I got invited to go ziplining. That's basically where you're attached to a rope and you slide down an incline from one end to the other.
Sounds simple.
But apparently there are going to be platforms at points along the rope,I assume where the line is supported. I also assume I'm going to have to detach the harnis and reattach it to the next section of the line.
I know this is a pretty random topic, but I was wondering if anyone has ever been ziplining before, and if so, how did you manage it? Experiences?

there must be skilled approved instructors to do it or check your work. if not it's not safe.

I've been before. I got people to stand on the platforms that I was expected to land on. As I approached, they'd count me in so that I'd know when the jolt was coming and when to drop my feet. It worked fine for me.

O wow. All the ziplines I've ever been on have never had the platforms. One of them had me land in a lake, and the other one was atached to a tree, and did have a bit of a jolt at the end, but there weren't actual separate platforms. Make sure the people there know what they're doing, but it's great fun.

zip lining is awesome! because there are platforms, be sure to tuck your legs up between each one as you're moving. Attaching and detaching the one or two carribeaners to the clip(s) on your harness isn't difficult. They should have someone to check your harness and go through general info before you start. Have fun!

I've went many times in my life. Actually worked for a zipline camp during college one summer.
Attaching and detaching the carabiners that are used is very simple. If you can fasten and unfasten a seatbelt, you'll have no trouble, lol.
On most of the zip line courses I've been on, they have an instructor or another staff member standing on each platform to help you clip and unclip as well as to catch you.
Just curious, where are you going ziplining?
how long are the lines you'll be on?

I'm jealous for you! Have a great time and let us know how it goes.
